Centrally located in Malmö. The building has several offices and among the more well-known companies in the building is the game developer Sharkmob.

When the buildung was new

The house was built in 1917 for Oxie Härads Sparbank (a savings bank) and is made of granite. The architects were August Ewe and Carl Melin. The picture below on the right shows the new shiny facade before time and exhaust fumes "repainted" the granite.

About the surrounding environment

The house has neighbors with a long history. Jörgen Kock's house, the Town Hall and the governor's residence are some of them. Stortorget (IDstory)

The wings of history

The house was built in 1906. The block is named Frans Suell (IDstory) after the tobacco manufacturer and the port builder. It was tobacco money that made it possible for Frans Henrik Kockum (IDstory) to start Kockum's Shipyard.

The picture was taken in 1917. Behind the gas lamp, the neighboring house's advertising text for the Swedish Insurance Company Veritas can be seen.

That's the text on the facade, but whose portraits are visible underneath? Please let me know if you know. Clue, they were on the bank's board at the time. The faces are made by the Skåne writer and sculptor Axel Ebbe↗ svW.

On the facade Above the ground floor you can see faces representing members of the bank's board. An idea you rarely see today. Look at the portraits. What are the names of the people? Sorry, we don't know either, and that probably doesn't matter any more.
