Södra Tullgatan 4, Malmö
The southern gateway to Malmö’s old city center—once a customs station where traders’ and farmers’ goods were taxed in kind. Today, it’s a popular shopping complex between Gustav Adolfs Torg and Triangeln. The buildings were constructed jointly by Skanska and HSB in 1961, replacing older, low-rise houses from the early 1800s.
Davidshallsbron is named after an entertainment venue called Davidshall, which stood at the corner of S. Förstadsgatan and what is now Regementsgatan.
The place was owned by David Lenander, who lived in a house where Carl Gustav 5 stands today.

The then-narrow Davidshalls bridge, early 1900s. You can also see the houses that existed before 1961. In the red corner house on Södra Tullgatan was Aggerborg’s Confectionery & Café—a fond memory for many locals.
Right in the Center with Magnificent Views

When Södra Förstadsgatan became a pedestrian street and Triangeln gained its shopping center, the city’s heart moved to Södertull. Every day, tens of thousands of people pass along Södra Tullgatan—making this a prime retail location.
