Façade Plaques
MKB has created a series of cast plaques on some of its buildings, briefly narrating their history.
These façade plaques (how many are there?) could usefully be combined with IDsigns and IDstories, plus QR codes or NFC.

Merchant Carl and his wife Augusta Österberg donated a substantial sum and a fee-free plot to Malmö for “the establishment of a home for needy and unmarried widows and unsupported daughters of merchants.”
The building was constructed in 1910 and originally had 24 small apartments. Stylistically, the façade is considered neo-Gothic medieval romanticism. It is typical for its red brick façade resting on a granite plinth. The brickwork is richly decorated and the windows are mullioned.
The well-known master builder Axel Stenberg designed the house. Stenberg did not have a formal degree in architecture but possessed great technical skill and a keen sense of design. In the 1800s it was not uncommon for master builders to act as architects themselves.
Stenberg was also an enterprising businessman and wealthy property owner. He designed several industrial buildings for Kockums and numerous multi-family homes in both Malmö and Lund.
The interior was renovated in 1975 but the façades were left untouched. The generously sized courtyard was originally laid out as a kitchen and orchard garden to help support the tenants.
