About BiBB
BiBB is a free independent media company and an encyclopedia 4.0.
wORDs (subjects) are sorted into 30 Teman (Themes) and IDstories (articles) are grouped into 20 Kategorier (Categories). Most links lead to Swedish pages, though references often point to pages in other languages, frequently English.
In our wORDs you will find content that resembles a traditional encyclopedia. However, BiBB combines four forms of content: Stories, Notes, AI-dialogue and Open Access articles.
As in wORDs, every IDstory has a named author and is fact-based although not always "objective and value-neutral" in the traditional less realistic sense. Texts always have an element of choice. A growing number of IDstories are also available in English.
On BiBB's strategy
BiBB is a company with many potential stakeholders and beneficiaries. Our mission is to foster respect for knowledge and for sharing it.
We have a Vision and a strategy for BiBB’s long-term development. We have a Two‑step model:
- BiBB should ultimately be owned by a non-profit foundation.
- BiBB is today partly financed through selected sponsored IDstories.
BiBB welcomes contributions of various kinds — suggestions for articles, articles with Creative Commons republishing rights, sponsorships, or other support. All material is reviewed before publication to ensure quality and alignment with BiBB’s core values.
Contact
BiBB is developed, financed, and run by Johan Schlasberg (JS)↗ who is an innovator, researcher and 'writer'. The site is designed and coded by JS.

Republishing articles
To expand access to high-quality knowledge, BiBB republishes selected articles under Creative Commons licenses, making them available to Swedish readers. While many Swedes can read English, translations extend their reach and impact for both authors and their platforms. Articles from The Conversation are an example. Several others will follow.
About articles from The Conversation republished by BiBB
The Conversation is the world's largest media platform for articles written by researchers in a journalistic style. We have been in contact with the editors at The Conversation and informed them of how we republish their articles. They welcomed our initiative.
Our articles from The Conversation are translated into Swedish - with headers in Swedish and English - and include references with links to the original articles and their authors. Images are usually excluded for copyright reasons, but reference links are retained either in the translations or in the original English (or French) versions.
Editorial voice
BiBB also has a small editorial section — a space for values, opinions, and reflections, similar to a newspaper or magazine. EncyclopediasORD, by contrast, traditionally emphasize objectivity and value-neutrality even when this is more of an aspiration than reality.
BiBB believes that every modern encyclopedia should include a metadiscussion about transparency, references, authorship, and its content strategy. Transparency is the new objectivity. We believe that in today’s knowledge environment, transparency is a more realistic foundation for trust than claimed neutrality.
It is BiBB's position that …
- Russia is waging a war of terror against Ukraine, led by Vladimir Putin, an untrustworthy mass murderer — and is a grave threat also to the Baltics, the Nordic countries, and all of Europe. Unfortunately Donald Trump thinks Putin is his friend. Ryssland - UkrainaTheme.
- It is a tragedy for the United States, Europe and the world that the big liar and the conspiracy activistORD Donald Trump is once again president. Democracy, humanity, free media, and knowledge itself are under severe threat. The US is on a dangerous path toward authoritarianism. USATheme.
- Elon Musk is one of the most dangerous people in the world right now (with clear fascist signals) and a very serious threat to democracy. Tesla should be boycotted to help reduce his power.
- The rise of the far right in Europe and beyond is a profound danger. Education and, not least, an increased interest in education and knowledge are examples of constructive counterforces.
- The Tidö parties (the current government coalition in Sweden) promote an unrealistic energy policy with significant risks of major misinvestments and a risk of dependence on volatile US politics if Sweden purchases nuclear power from companies such as WestinghouseORD. EnergiTheme
- Universities must strengthen their ability and methods to build public trust in facts, evidence-based reasoning, and research. Samverkansuppgiften.
- It is a national problem that Sweden does not have a free modern article-signed encyclopedia as in Denmark and Norway. In an AI-driven world, such a project is unlikely to emerge — but BiBB offers a broader, and more sustainable concept.
